SNT are aware from speaking with our local community that phone snatches is high on the list of crime concerns for our area and we are out there a lot attempting to deter them, circulate them when seen and if the opportunity arises stop them completely in their tracks and arrest if in possession of stolen phones however when on foot can be a tricky one. We continue to engage with the public to LOOK UP, LOOK OUT! And not get lost in the phone. Bus stops are a prime target as it can be boring waiting for a bus and looking at your phone is something to do however you are then a still target by the road side and these thieves take advantage knowing the snatch is much easier for them. PCSO Paul in the last few shifts, day and night, rain or shine has been carrying out robbery patrols and will continue to do so as will the rest of the team. |
